• Tell pupils: Open the Practice Pages to page 21.

exercises according to instructions.
• Sight Words
- Teach ‘the’ and ‘on’ as sight words. Sight words are small words, frequently
encountered in a text, that should be recognized globally rather than decoded
letter by letter. It is important for pupils to recognize sight words quickly in
order to ensure fluent reading
- Teach the sentence ‘The cat sat on the mat’. Explain that sentences in English
begin with a capital letter.
• Tell pupils: Open the Practice Pages to page 22-23.
- Ex. 24 - Have pupils prepare crayons: red, blue, orange, green purple and
yellow. Play ex. 24 from: www.eadventure.co.il/pp4 and follow the instructions.
- Tell pupils to circle each word only once. When they have finished listening
to all the words on the list, they can look for the rest of the words and circle
them according to the right color. Ask the children to count the circled words
with you.
- Ex. 25 - Complete the exercise according to the instructions.

- Tell pupils that they will write sentences with the words they just learned. Point
out that a sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.
- Put the words in mixed order on the board and rearrange them, with the help
of pupils, to form a sentence.
- Do the same with additional sentences. e.g. The cat is on the chair.
Note: Use a picture of a ‘chair’ instead of the word. Pupils cannot read the word
‘chair’ yet.
- Ex. 26:
- Tell pupils:
1. Read the word clusters.
2. Cut out the word clusters and arrange them on the desk to form a sentence.
3. Paste the words to form a sentence.
4. Read the sentence.
5. Copy the sentence.
