Divide the class into three groups.
- Ask: How many pupils are in your group? How many girls? How many boys?
- Pupils respond: There are ____ pupils/girls/boys in my group.
- Tell pupils in each group to hold up a red pencil.
- Ask: How many red pencils are there in your group?
Pupils respond: There are ____ red pencils.

Continue asking "how many" questions. Ask about chairs, windows, desks,
bags, etc.

- Have pupils pass the ball and introduce each other:
Hello, this is ____ . She is a girl or He is a boy.
II. Vocabulary
Parts of the Face
- Draw a big face (circle) on the board.
- Point to it and to your face and say: This is a face. Have pupils point to
their face and repeat several times in different voices: This is a face.
- Draw two eyes on the face on the board and say: These are two eyes.
Pupils repeat and point to their eyes.
- Continue this procedure with the nose, ears and mouth.
- Erase the facial features one by one chanting: Off go the eyes, off goes
the nose.
- Call individual pupils to come to the board and draw the features on the
face, one by one, according to your instructions. Say: Draw the eyes. The
pupil draws the eyes and says with you: These are eyes. The class repeats
the sentence.
