Each letter will be taught with its name and corresponding sound. For each letter students
will learn a song or chant and a movement. They will also learn how to write the letters,
focusing on the shapes of the letters.
Body movements, plasticine, and/or pipe cleaners will be used to practice the formation
of letters.
Student Materials
Make sure that students bring the following materials to class for every lesson.
Parents will be asked to help students prepare the materials at home.

• Three envelopes to store:

Two ABC posters

One poster to hang on the wall and show all of the letters in ABC order.

One poster to cut out and form mural pieces.
❍
Before cutting out the Letter Cards, you may wish to mount the poster onto
Bristol paper or laminate the sheet to keep the Letter Cards in good condition.
