Activity 3: X’s and O’s
• Have students sit in pairs to play the game.
• Use one playing board at a time. There are two boards on each student's work page.
• Player #1 draws an ‘X’ in one of the squares.
• Player #2 draws an ‘O’ in another square.
• Players take turns drawing ‘X’s and ‘O’s.
• The first player to finish a row of three ‘X’s or three ‘O’s going across, down, or
diagonally wins.
• If all the squares are finished and no one got a row of three, then there is no winner.
• Have students continue playing using all the boards in their students' books.
Activity 4
• Look at the pictures and ask what each picture shows.
• Say the word written below each picture. (octopus, on, box, fox)
• Have students repeat the words after you.
• Have students trace the ‘O’s.
