Activity 2
• Draw a small ‘q’ on the Letter House poster.
• Ask students where small ‘q’ lives. (begins in the middle of the house and goes down
to the bottom floor)
• Draw the circle and then the line.
• Draw a big ‘Q’ on the Letter House poster.
• Ask where big ‘Q’ lives. (on the top floor and in the middle of the house)
• Draw the circle and then the line.
• Have students write rows of ‘Qq’s. As they write each letter students can say the
sound /kw/ and the word ‘quiet’.
Activity 3
• Tell students to draw a line from each small letter to the corresponding big letter.

• Look at the pictures and teach the words.
• Ask what each picture shows.
• Say the word written below each picture. (queen, quiet, question)
• Have students repeat the words after you.
• Have students trace the ‘q’s.
• Have students find other letters that they know. (‘i’, ‘o’)
