THE COMPLETE CAR BUYER’S GUIDE
Of course, if you don’t have an insurance provider already, your salesperson would
be more than happy to put you in touch with someone they recommend. Some
dealerships may even have an in-house insurance agent helping new buyers.
REGISTERING YOUR VEHICLE
Once you’ve purchased your vehicle, you’ll want to make sure it’s registered.
Registration requirements will, or course, vary from state to state.
Generally, the dealership will help you handle your title and registration paperwork.
In the event that you’re buying out of state, any paperwork done by the dealer will be
temporary, and it will be your responsibility to register and title the vehicle in your
home state.
It’s helpful to get in touch with your state’s DMV and find out the best way to handle
the process so that you’re not caught off guard.
