APPENDIX B
Human Growth & Development
Beginning in Upper Elementary and continuing into Middle School,
designated time is set aside to cover the topic Human Growth and
Development. This complies with the Oregon Department of Education’s Health Standards Curriculum requirements.
Parents are encouraged to participate in conversations with their
children before, during and after this instructional period. They are
notified of the time designated for this topic well in advance, and invited to an evening with the Upper Elementary teachers to review the
curriculum and ask questions. As children advance in age, the subject
of Sexual Health and Education becomes more comprehensive.
O.D.E. SUMMARY OF COVERED TOPICS
