POLICIES
Dress Code
Students are encouraged to dress appropriately in a way that prepares
them for the learning environment. Clothing and shoes should be
comfortable and allow full range of motion.
Please avoid revealing clothing, cartoon or media characters, and
logos or designs that might be considered offensive, distracting, or
otherwise inappropriate. Hats are welcome outdoors, but we ask that
hats or head scarves not be worn indoors, except for religious or specific health reasons.
All students are expected to wear clothing that allows them to participate in all daily activities, including recess and physical education.
Shirts need at least a one-inch strap across the shoulder and to cover
the midriff, underwear should stay fully covered, and shorts and skirts
extend to mid-thigh.
Students need indoor and outdoor shoes. Always dress appropriately
for the weather, as we will go outdoors rain or shine.
Personal Belongings
Students may bring personal belongings to school if they have a clear
educational purpose, subject to teacher discretion. Please mark all
items with the student’s name, and search the Lost & Found for things
that do not return home in a timely manner. Students may not bring
toys, trading cards, candy, or other items that distract from learning.
Unclaimed Lost & Found items will be donated to charity.
The school is not responsible for personal belongings.
Student cell phones must be kept off and inaccessible during school
hours and through the duration of the school activities or events, including Trails and bus rides. Students may use the school phone for
emergency calls. Misuse of cell phones at school may result in their
confiscation until the end of the day; students are responsible for retrieving them.
