POLICIES
Medication
State regulations require that school staff may only administer prescribed or over-the-counter medication with written authorization.
The office can provide you with Authorization for Medication Administration by School Personnel forms.
Medication must be given to school office staff in original containers
with prescription label attached, with only the amount to be given by
school staff in the container. School staff must keep a log of the date,
time, and amount of medication given to the student.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND MEDICATION TO
SCHOOL IN YOUR CHILD’S POSSESSION
Bring it to the office staff when you fill out the permission form. We
keep all medication in a secure place until it is time to administer it.
Pharmicists can issue medicine in separate bottles, labeled for your
child, so it may stay at the school if your child is taking doses for more
than one day. Over-the-counter medications should also be in their
original containers, labeled clearly with the child’s name, date and
dosage.
Students requiring medication are requested to take all doses at home,
if possible.
