DETERMINING ELL ELIGIBILITY
A student who meets the following criteria is identified as limited English proficient and is thereby entitled to ELL services. Students must:
• Come from a home environment where a language
other than English is/was spoken.
AND
• Score at level 3 or below on the Broad English Ability
Cluster of the Woodcock-Muñoz Language Survey
REFUSAL OF ELL SERVICES
The bottom portion of the Parent Notification Letter informs parents
that they have the right to refuse ELL services for their child and gives
them the name of a person to contact if they want to refuse or waive
ELL services.
If there are questions or concerns regarding ELL services, please refer
them to the Director of Education.
