I am proud of the many activities and traditions that Evergreen has started with its students, staff, parents,
Parents Association and the Board. They include our morning assemblies, the advocacy day in Albany, field
trips to Lincoln Center to hear the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, our ‘Purple Ceremonies’ to recognize
student character and achievement, student concerts, plays and skits, our Evergreen family nights with our
students and parents, school dances, reunions with our former alumni, family Zumba and movie nights with
our Parents Association, teacher and parent focus groups, “green” activities to support the earth and our award
ceremonies throughout the school year that recognize student achievements, academics and other areas. I am
happy that Evergreen does these and many other activities to support student growth and learning.
Our nutrition program is vital to our mission and vision at Evergreen. I am grateful we have a chef who
prepares fresh, unprocessed food each day. He has shared his talents with students and parents, leading cooking
classes to encourage healthy choices and good nutrition.
Gil and I are grateful to the many individuals who have supported the vision for Evergreen. Our school is a
collective effort and is enriched every day by all who are part of this wonderful gift of educating the mind,
heart and soul. We are making a positive difference every day, together.
I want to thank all who have contributed to Evergreen in large and small ways throughout the years including
our students, parents, staff, Board Members and supporters.
Gracias.
