Annual Report 2018 - Flipbook - Page 12
Peer-to-peer fundraising provides a platform for our volunteers and ambassadors to share their
stories, share the mission of Experience Camps, and connect people to the organization while
raising money to keep it running. There is something powerful about sharing your own story while
finding a positive way to channel the emotions associated with loss.
Ezra's Mitzvah Project
"My Mom and Aunt would have benefited from attending an
Experience camp. Their youngest sister, my Aunt Lindsey, was
tragically hit by a car and killed when she was 16 years old. I
never had a chance to meet her. From what I know of Lindsey
she was kind and generous, caring, loving, funny, smart,
beautiful, athletic, and a future businesswoman with big dreams.
When she was a little girl she designed a snowboarding
character that she named, “Bubba”. Her dream was to have a
snowboarding business called “Bubba Incorporated”."
Laurie's Legacy: Day of Champions
"We all know someone who's had their childhood cut short by this type of
unimaginable loss. For me this experience cuts close to home. My mother
Lauren “Laurie” Goldfarb passed away from Leukemia when I was 7
years old. I only wish there was Experience Camps when I was a girl."
- Michelle Yanover
Michelle and her family competed in the Day of Champions event in
Westport, CT. Each team raised money through their family and
friends and then competed in camp-style activities for points and the
ultimate title of CHAMPION!
