CAMPER RACIAL
DEMOGRAPHICS
There are many factors that make our
campers different from each other, but there
is one thing that makes them the same. Each
child at camp knows what it's like to lose
someone important to them. It is our goal to
create an inclusive environment where each
child belongs, while honoring their individual
differences and experiences.

Camp is free to all campers, regardless of
their financial circumstances. When a
primary caregiver or earner dies, or when a
child has endured a long illness, a family has
plenty of things to worry about. Paying for
camp shouldn't be one of them.

Each story is unique, and often times a child
can feel like the only one going through
their particular type of loss. When there is a
traumatic or stigmatized death, like suicide
or homicide, the circumstances can be even
more isolating. At camp, their stories and
feelings are normalized, and they find out
they're not the only ones.
