XV Bücher von dem Feldbaw is the German
translation of a work by Charles Estienne and Jean
Liébault entitled L’agriculture et maison rustique
published in Paris in 1564. It is a compilation of
ancient agronomic writings with considerations on
the choice of a farmer, on how to organize the
work in the fields, on the health care of the staff, on
the breeding of livestock, on the work of gardens,
orchards, meadows, arable land, vineyards, garennes
and on birds. This work served as a source for all the
gardening encyclopedias of the following centuries.
