SAFETY
MOMENT
At Gaylor Electric safety is a core value.
Stay aware. Think. Follow the rules. Safety first.
While every day requires an equal commitment
to workplace safety, the month of February is
American Heart Month -- a time when all people
are encouraged to focus on their cardiovascular
health.
Heart conditions aren’t always apparent. Regular
screenings of blood pressure, cholesterol, blood
glucose, and body weight is the best prevention
of cardiovascular disease.
Symptoms of heart disease include chest pain,
jaw, neck or arm pain, breathlessness, weakness,
and fatigue.
Although getting and staying healthy
can feel like a big challenge, it
doesn't have to be. Working small,
positive steps into your daily life can
help you build a healthier life
routine.
THINK IN COLOR.
An easy first step to eating healthy is to
include fruits and vegetables at every meal
and snack. All forms (fresh, frozen, canned
and dried) and all colors count, so go ahead
and add color to your plate – and your life.
PARTNER UP.
Grab a friend, co-worker, or your spouse & kids and
create an accountability agreement. Check in on
each other’s progress. Text photos of your meals
and share recipes. When you aren’t feeling
motivated, lean on your partner for support.
MOVE MORE.
Let’s stick with it! You’ll build more opportunities
to be active into your routine when you find ways
to move that you like. Take a walk. Invest in hand
weights. Start off slow and easy and build to a
fitness routine.
