The Conduit, Q4 2021 - Flipbook - Page 3
A MESSAGE FROM OUR
PRESIDENT & CEO
Q4 | 2021
Chuck Goodrich
I would like to open with a thank you to all our Veterans! Even though Veteran’s Day was a week ago, I did want to
express my thankfulness to the brave men and women who chose to serve our nation in the Armed Forces. May
God continue to bless our nation with such brave citizens.
The fourth quarter of 2021 is playing out like the first three quarters have for us – just as we have planned. I am
reminded of the old business adage, “Fail to Plan is to Plan to Fail!” We developed and presented our strategic plan
to the company back in January and have checked on our progress monthly. To use a sports analogy, by following
our plan, our teams make the habit of “playing to win” versus “just playing not to lose.” This is proving out to be
another year attaining excellence in the services we provide.
Since our last issue of the Conduit, we have placed a focus on the word GRIT with our employee communications. I
thought you might enjoy a summary of what we have shared with our teams. GRIT is defined in our 2021 Strategic
Plan as made up of “Hustle, Passion, and Perseverance.” It is my hope that these qualities are being seen on our
projects by our clients and the other trades we work alongside.
GRIT is not something people are born with, but it is something everyone can develop. GRIT is a result of blending
different thoughts and actions together… it must be built into one’s life. GRIT builds a consistency of performance
reliability and excellence. Having a GRIT mindset strengthens all your other abilities. There is no downside to having
it, it has only positive effects on your life.
GRIT prepares you for anything that pops up during the day. Our days often have rough patches with unexpected
challenges that arise. With GRIT, each challenge becomes an opportunity to excel and overcome. It is an attitude of
strength in the face of adversity and a necessary quality to being a problem solver.
GRIT is a quality that is dearly needed in the world today. It might just be the perfect word to describe how Gaylor
Electric approaches a project. We are uncompromising and unapologetic in taking on project challenges with GRIT.
We have an innovative approach, using our advanced technology and processes to be out front as industry leaders.
I am proud and thankful for our Gaylor Electric teams. I am also proud and thankful for the relationships we have
built and are building across the country. In January 2022, our company is coming together for the National Gaylor
Summit! Yes, we are bringing in all our employees from across the country for this major educational and visionbuilding event. We know where we want to go as a company, and this Summit will help to establish our entire team
is on the same road, going the same direction. Our Q1 2022 Conduit will have a huge spread of the event.
Until next time, have a happy and safe holiday season. Like we are doing here at Gaylor Electric, finish your 2021
strong and start your new year with great momentum!
Stay safe and take care of each other.

President & CEO
