NEW Water's 2019-2021 Strategic Plan - Page 2

Innovating, Evolving, and Leading
We are pleased to introduce NEW Water’s Strategic Plan, which has been
established to guide our efforts from 2019 through 2021. This plan builds
on the work we were able to accomplish during the last planning period.
While this plan was developed by NEW Water’s staff and its Commission, it
requires engagement and collaboration from the many partners we have in our
community, as well as other clean water utilities throughout our industry. NEW
Water staff will have primary responsibility for plan implementation.
The Strategic Plan has its foundations in NEW Water’s Organizational Culture.
NEW Water’s Cultural Attributes are:
• Safety is our most important value
• We Respect and value diverse individuals and values
• One Team that communicates openly and honestly while encouraging and
supporting one another in achieving common goals
• Leaders in the Environment always looking beyond compliance
Strategic Pillars in the plan represent the investment of our human and capital
resources over the next three years and include: Community Outreach, Innovation,
Team, Organizational Optimization, and Water Quality Improvements. Plan
Goals and Objectives translate the Strategic Pillars to specific action items.
NEW Water will report out its progress as we move through the implementation
of this plan. To keep up to date on our initiatives and to find out what you can
do to help improve our water, please stay tuned to our social media, newsletter,

Looking to the horizon, the NEW Water team will continue to proactively seek out
ways to innovate, evolve, and lead water quality improvements for the benefit of
the region. This Strategic Plan will serve as a roadmap on our continued journey
to protect our most valuable resource, water.
