Join some of Florida’s newest voices in short film for a discussion on on capturing Florida on camera. Whether they are documenting the
Sunshine State’s natural beauty or its weird wonders, these filmmakers know there are no shortage of fascinating Florida stories. From sea to
swamp, Florida has the stories – and support services – to be the star.

Brian Edgar has written scripts for Al Pacino, Killer Films and HBO. His
original screenplay 1066 is currently in development with De Warrenne
Pictures. A graduate of the Columbia University MFA film program, Brian
has taught screenwriting at CUNY/Hunter College, Gotham Writers
Workshop and Digital Film Academy in New York, and has presented
workshops and panels at University of Paris/Nanterre, Rutgers
University, Story Expo LA and the Orlando Film Festival. Co-founder of
Story To Screenplay, Brian works with writers of all genres who aspire to
bring their work to the silver or digital screens.

HIGH SCHOOL FILM COMPETITION
The Tampa Film Institute is pleased to announce the 7th Annual
Tampa Bay High School Film Competition, as a part of the 2022
Gasparilla International Film Festival “GIFF” presented by Film
Tampa Bay. This year over 30 films were submitted by Tampa Bay
area high school filmmakers. These students represent the very best
talent in Tampa Bay, led by passionate and dedicated instructors.

School Film Competition!
THE TAMPA FILM INSTITUTE
It is the mission of The Tampa Film Institute, Inc.” TFI” is to improve the
educational opportunities of Tampa Bay area student filmmakers. This
year through the generous support of our sponsors, and in partnership
with the Hillsborough Education Foundation, we are proud to provide
over $10,000 in college scholarships and production equipment to
award-winning students and schools.
SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarships will be given to the students accepting the awards
for Best Director, Best Picture (Grand Jury), Best Cinematography, and
Best Picture (Audience Choice).
