MEMBERSHIP POLICIES
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Monthly
Through our bank draft plan, dues are automatically
transferred from your checking, debit, or credit card
account to the YMCA on the 15th of every month. No
renewal notices are sent.
CANCELLATION
Membership is continuous until member requests
cancellation in writing by mail, email, or in person before
the 10th of the month to cancel current Y membership.
Members have 30 days to rejoin without being assessed
a standard joining fee.
NON-SUFFICIENT FUNDS
PROCEDURE
Should your draft be returned to us for any reason,
you are responsible for that draft payment, plus a $30
service charge, in addition to any fees your bank may
charge. If fees are not collected, your membership
will automatically be canceled. Once you return to
reinstate your membership or participate in any activity,
your outstanding balance will need to be paid before
reinstatement can occur.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The YMCA wants to ensure that everyone has an
opportunity to participate in our programs and enjoy
the facilities and services. Financial Assistance is
available for memberships, child care, and summer camp
programs for individuals and families with financial need.
Financial assistance is available through the generous
contributions of friends to the YMCA through the
Annual Campaign and other sources. Applications are
available online at hanoverymca.org, and at our Member
Services desk. Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing your
application.
JOINING FEES
A joining fee is required for each new membership
and upon reactivation of a membership that has been
terminated longer than 30 days. This fee is a one-time
fee at the start of a new membership or reactivation.
REFUNDS
The YMCA reserves the right to cancel any class that does
not meet minimum enrollment. Members will be issued
a voucher for classes canceled by the YMCA. A refund
will only be issued if requested by the participant. If a
participant drops out of a class prior to the start, the
YMCA will retain a 25% service fee. The balance will be
issued as a voucher for use at the YMCA. After the class
has met once, no credits are issued.
In case of a medical emergency, a voucher will
be issued for classes not attended if the emergency
occurs before the third week of the session and the
participant will miss all remaining classes. A doctor’s
note must be presented within two months to receive
the credit. Only vouchers will be issued. Refunds will
not be offered.
The YMCA will not refund or issue credit vouchers
for weather-related cancellations. Every effort will be
made to make up missed classes. In-house credits will
be issued for all refunds in the amount of $15 or less.
Credits/vouchers may be designated as contributions
to the YMCA’s Annual Campaign fund.
The YMCA reserves the right to apply credit/
voucher refund requests to satisfy financial
obligations to the YMCA including, but not limited
to, Non-Sufficient Funds, Program, and Childcare
Balance Dues for the participant.
This refund/credit information pertains to
membership dues and program fees. It does not apply
to fees paid for childcare and camp programs.
