iM3 Straw - Maintenance Schedule
Daily
Leave full water bottle on the dental unit with water in the lines at the end
of the day. The Straw releases residual disinfectant that is designed to be
continually present in the bottle and the lines.
Weekly (or to follow the weekend)
Remove bottle(s) and top off the water.
Ensure the Luer Lock fitting is pushed completely into the pick-up tube
and threaded tightly into the Straw. Improper removal of the bottle from
the unit can unseat the Luer Lock.
Monthly
We recommend the bottle be cleaned once a month.
If using an ultrasonic scaler, run the ultrasonic scaler for sixty seconds. Due
to the infrequent use of a scaler and the minute amount of water used, the
water inside the water line may experience longer periods of stagnation.
Yearly
Replace Straw with a new iM3 Straw and follow shock treatment protocol
written in the Straw directions.

Now you can have all the great benefits of the iM3 Straw in a cartridge for use
with external water. Introducing the new iM3 Straw Ex and Fitting Kit (each
sold separately). Simply connect both ends of the fitting bracket to your water
line and attach the iM3 Straw Ex cartridge.
Works great on iM3 Pro S and other dental units that have external water
lines. Also works as a smart solution for non-iM3 dental units that don’t use
standard water bottles and therefore cannot work with the iM3 Straw ( PS001).
Note: While we expect you to get long lasting protection, the longevity of the
iM3 Straw Ex is affected by both the quality and volume of water that passes
through it.
