4.A wax relator is made in modeling wax between the casts. This
wax relator can be sectioned at
any point of the posterior ridge to
make further measurements such
as angle between interalveolar
line and horizontal plane. If the
angle is less than 800 , a cross bite
set up is indicated (Fig 10-12).

terior teeth is usually followed ie. mandibular posterior teeth are
arranged in the maxillary arch. To maintain ideal mesio-distal positioning,
the teeth are arranged as follows:
Criss cross positioning of the posteriors ensures stable occlusal contacts
and correct mesio distal positioning of the posteriors. However while
arranging the posteriors in the maxillary arch with mandibular posterior
teeth, the first premolars have to be eliminated. Otherwise an additional
premolar has to be added in the mandibular arch. Reasonable good
occlusal contacts are obtained with this cross bite set up.
Different variations of crossbite set up were also tried to suit varied
crossbite relationships such as unilateral crossbite and crossbite
restricted to molar region. That will be described in a subsequent article.
