ENDODONTICS
RESTORATION OF TOOTH AFTER RCT
Always place the final restoration immediately after the
obturation.
Fig 11
Bending of GP while placing it into canal can be
prevented by spraying endofrost that helps to keep it
stiff.
In case of lack of time, seal the orifice with flowable
resin after etching and bonding thus making sure to
prevent contamination of root canal and place Cavit
over it.
POST AND CORE RESTORATION
While laterally condensing GP a hand NiTi spreader is
much handier to work with than a finger spreader.
Spreader 11T is the most useful one for this
purpose.(Fig:12)
In cases where Post and core is indicated, the root
canal is only filled in the apical third and rest of the
canal is cleaned with micro brush and alcohol.
Use duel cure bonding agent if using resin cement.
Fig 12
Placement of cement into the post space without
entrapment of air bubble is a big challenge; but it can
be overcome by using a Centrix cement or paste
delivey system which includes a compule syringe and
specially designed 20 and 24 gauge needles which
provide access to the depth of any post space
preparation.(Fig:14)
PRECISE AIR AND WATER DELIVERY
After obturation, the ideal cut back position of GP
would be 2 mm below the orifice.
The Stropko Irrigator is a brilliant device for precise air
Cleaning of pulp chamber from remaining sealer can
be done by alcohol.(Fig:13)
