REATTACHMENT OF FRACTURED
MAXILLARY CENTRAL
INCISOR - A CASE REPORT
ABSTRACT
rauma to maxillary central incisors is a
common scenario that every dentist
encounter in clinical practice. There are
different ways in managing such cases. It is
always better to think minimalistic and ultraconservative
rather than going into more invasive procedures like
full coverage crowns directly. This case report is to
show how such a case can be managed when the
patient presents with the fractured segment.

July-August-September 2019
A female patient, aged 30, reported to the OPD
following trauma in upper anterior tooth due to
alleged fall (Figure 1). The fractured segment was
stored in milk and was brought to the OPD (Figure 2).
On intraoral examination, it was diagnosed to be Ellis
Class II fracture of tooth # 21. Vitality of the tooth was
checked using cold test with Endo-Frost (Coltene
Whaledent) and found to be of normal response. On
radiographic examination, the fracture extensions
were confirmed. There was no pulpal involvement
seen in the radiograph.
