5. Belgravia in Bloom
Belgravia has o٠恩cially announced that Belgravia in Bloom, its renowned week-long 昀oral extravaganza, is returning on 20-27 May 2024. This year9s theme is Floral Fun & Games - a nod to the
exciting summer of sport ahead, it invites visitors to step into a 昀oral playground and embrace
their inner child. Coinciding with RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the 9th annual festival will feature
a number of installations from the neighbourhood9s iconic 昀orists, including Neill Strain, Moyses
Stevens and Judith Blacklock, that will celebrate the global sporting events, with classic sports
and games transformed into captivating displays. New for 2024, Belgravia in Bloom will be working with RHS to re昀ne the judging criteria and provide guidance on creating more sustainable
displays.

6. New Artistic Director at Tara Theatre
T Natasha Kathi-Chandra is the new Artistic Director of the South Asian theatre company.
Kathi-Chandra takes on the role from Abdul Shayek, who was the Artistic Director of Tara Theatre, until his death in August 2023. For over four decades, Tara Theatre and its award winning
theatre in Wandsworth has supported the emergence of generations of South Asian performers,
writers, directors, musicians and choreographers, and toured extensively both nationally and
internationally. Under Kathi-Chandra9s leadership, the theatre will continue to be a creative
voice for these communities, staging their stories and their histories for audiences in London and
across the UK.

7. Hastings Contemporary Announces Major Spring Exhibition
Hastings Contemporary, one of the UK9s leading contemporary galleries on England9s south
coast, is delighted to announce that it will open this spring with a spectacular show from one of
Ethiopia9s most exciting contemporary artists, Elias Sime.Elias Sime: Eregata opens on Saturday
16 March and celebrates the work of this multi-disciplinary artist, who fuses extraordinary craftsmanship with a plethora of man-made objects. Elias9s work has been lauded across the globe
and will feature prominently at the 2024 Venice Biennale. His artistic approach is so relevant in
today9s unstable world, encouraging us to re-examine our relationship with our environment.
Eregata will focus on the last decade of Elias9s career, with over 20 works on display, including
complex and lyrical abstract topographies from his landmark series Tightrope (2009-present),
and Bareness (2014), a large-scale ceramic installation consisting of 192 clay vessels.
