approximately 650 people in wooden pews. A lower floor level below the main
Sanctuary floor contained a fellowship hall and kitchen. The building footprint
was a simple rectangular form in its original design and construction, with
gable ends at the north and south sides of the building, and the addition of a
smaller volume at the northeast corner of the building which housed a Sunday
school space. Below grade window wells were constructed on the west and
east sides of the building to allow windows to be installed at the lower level
which provided natural light into the lower-level spaces.
On the west side of the original church property was a residential home. This
home was later purchased by Park Lake Presbyterian Church and remained for
various incidental uses until sometime between 1951 and 1955, when it was
removed to make room for the new West Transept.
