Raised Garden Beds

One - 1.5 hour class. All children 12 years and younger
must be accompanied by a registered adult participant.
Early Spring. During part one of this series, learn with
your child how to prepare and plant your spring raised
garden beds. What goes in the frames? How early should
you plant seeds? When do you transplant? How does a
compost pile work? What happens in cold weather? You
will get dirty, so dress accordingly. Seeds and starter kits
provided.
Late Spring / Early Summer. Part two of four in the
continuing process of gardening in raised beds helps
you learn how your skill set requirements change
with the onset of warm and hotter weather. Weeds?
Watering? Find out the why’s and how’s of spring and
summer gardens. Please note we are celebrating Earth
Day and Arbor Day on this date, so join in the festivities
after class.

All children must have an adult accompany
them throughout the duration of class.
Are you missing Tales, Tails and Trails?
We have a new small group program just for you
and your child. Each class will begin with an
animal story, followed by “meeting” or learning
about the animal in the story or one that is similar.
Time permitting, a craft may be available, or a
hike to see specific habitats. A different animal
friend will be featured each week, with repeated
programs offered during the same day.
