Student & Family eBook - Page 14

Academic records are accessible to a student’s parents and
legal guardians. Student files contain grade records, teacher evaluations, state testing records, and accident/injury and incident reports.
This information will not be released to anyone other than parents
or legal guardians, administrators, and the student’s current Guide
(teacher). If you would like to see the contents of your child’s school
file, please make an appointment with an administrator. An administrator will advise you of your specific rights regarding individual pieces of information at the time you view a file.
Student contact information
(including name,
address, phone number, and parents’ names and e-mail addresses) is
published in a school directory. Families wishing to keep some or all
of this information private are given the opportunity. (See Registration, following section)
Student photographs are taken at the beginning of the
year by a professional photographer. The date and time of student pictures are publicized in advance and photos are available for purchase
by the family.
Photos are used by the school in student files and for identification
purposes. Students are sometimes photographed by guides and other
staff and volunteers for classroom and school use. Photographs may
be used on the school website and in school publications.
Families wishing not to have their child photographed, or to
exclude their child’s photograph from specific uses, may update this
information by sending a note into the office.
