APPENDIX A
Public Meetings
We are bound by the State of Oregon’s Open Meeting Law and its
Public Records Law. The law provides for an executive session held to
discuss personnel, student and facility issues and during which sensitive issues are kept confidential. Otherwise, meetings are open to
public observation, and a public comment period is an item on every
agenda.
The Lewis & Clark Montessori Board operates by a committee structure. The committees are generally a mix of board members, parent
community members, staff members, and individuals with expertise
from the wider community.
STANDING BOARD COMMITTEES
Committees of the Board are composed of board members and other
members of the community who have skills and interests consistent
with the committee’s goals. The Standing Committees are:

Executive Committee
Finance Committee
Strategic Planning Committee
Development Committee
Facilities Committee
Safety and Security Committee
Other committees may be formed by the board on an ad hoc basis,
depending on school needs.
