Whiteleys
Laing O’Rourke has been selected
as the preferred delivery partner
for Central London’s Whiteleys
development, which will create
a vibrant new destination for the
local community and for London,
comprising of an exciting variety
of retailers, a cinema, cafés and
restaurants, a new hotel and homes –
that also forms an important part of
the wider regeneration of Queensway.

projects team, and fully-integrated
supply chain, will drive innovation
throughout the programme and
deliver an outstanding transformative
project that is of excellent quality.
Gatwick Airport, Pier 6
UK schools investment
Following recent airport projects in
Brisbane, Australia, and Manchester,
in the UK, Laing O’Rourke’s Crown House
Technologies will be an integral part
of the team delivering an extension
to the existing Pier 6 at one of the
world’s busiest airports.
As part of the ongoing engagement
with the UK Government, the
Department for Education (DfE) is
targeting the construction framework
for the design and build of secondary
schools to support its infrastructure
delivery programme. Laing O’Rourke
will deliver Orchard Hill School, as part
of the framework, to help cultivate,
innovate and modernise the industry,
focusing on increased certainty of
delivery in the education sector.
The project will create an additional
eight aircraft stands, with modular off
site construction delivering a three-tier
structure, including retail, arrivals
and departures.

As part of the London Legacy
Development, this exciting new
scheme - led by the Expanded
concrete structures team - aligns
with Laing O’Rourke’s engineeringled approach and will engage the
full service offering, including off site
manufactured components, Select
tower cranes and directly employed
staff and workforce.
Building our global expertise in meeting
the continued demands for big data
in the technology sector, LD11 represents
the continuation of our work led
by Laing O’Rourke’s Crown House
Technologies business. Having built
facilities in Australia and the Middle
East previously, this is the latest
manufacturing-led project in the
UK data centre market.
The redevelopment of Olympia in West
London will create a world-leading
cultural hub, transforming the 132-yearold exhibition centre into an arts,
entertainment, events and creative
business quarter. Plans are in place
to turn the historic 14-acre site into
a destination with hotels and restaurants,
plus performance venues and
office space.
