he tallest building in North Sydney
and our new home: 100 Mount Street.
The 44-level tower was born from the
desire to create a collaborative and
innovative working environment with a special
focus on well-being.

We wanted an inviting, flexible workplace for
our people and got exactly that, with beautiful
sweeping views over Sydney Harbour, too.
Built on behalf of DEXUS Property, two existing
buildings, 90 and 100 Mount Street, made way
for the $200 million AUD project.
Combining 34 levels of office accommodation,
open public space at ground level and two retail
areas, the building perfectly demonstrates our
design capabilities.
Cathal O’Rourke, Managing Director of Laing
O’Rourke in Australia, said the company focused
on the way it works by building flexible working
options into the design.
Of the project, he also said: “There can be
no greater demonstration of Laing O’Rourke’s
commitment to becoming the recognised leader
for innovation and excellence in the construction
industry, than 100 Mount Street – it is North Sydney’s
largest and most prestigious commercial tower,

incorporating the latest innovations in high-rise
design and construction and will serve as the
springboard for the next chapter of our journey
in Australia.”
The project showcased Laing O’Rourke’s digital
engineering capabilities. We used a digital
model to help us deliver the project’s demolition
and construction works. The construction
methodology proved critical in minimising
street closures, the number of visits to site from
construction traffic and general impacts on the
surrounding community. In producing innovative
construction approaches, the digital model
allowed us to try different approaches and
select the best solution. It allowed our team to
conduct enhanced community and stakeholder
engagement activities, but also provide virtual
tours of the entire building to identify potential
issues and solutions well before setting a foot on site.
100 Mount Street is an iconic centre for commerce
in North Sydney’s growing CBD (Central Business
District) that sets a new benchmark for workplace
design, sustainability features and public amenity.
