It was definitely disappointing when our 8th grade students learned their Washington, D.C. trip was cancelled last school year. But, they
handled the news with grace and the surrounding community came together to help give our students an alternative trip to remember!
From a CAVS watch party to an overnight stay at Cedar Point to fun choice activities around Cleveland-- our students had a blast!
>> Students at all levels (elementary, middle and high school) have the opportunity to participate in student government through student
council and other activities where officers are elected.
>> Six members of the Mentor High School Speech & Debate Team qualified for the 2018 OSDA State Tournament, where two students finished
as octafinalists and one finished as a semifinalist. Two students traveled to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to represent MHS in the Speech & Debate
Association’s National Tournament in World Schools Debate!
>> During the 2017-2018 school year, Mentor High School students held the second annual Model United Nations conference, hosting schools
from all across Northeast Ohio for competition in the crisis simulation event. This school year, students hosted the third annual Mentor Model
UN Conference. Additionally, students expanded the Model UN
program to our middle schools as well.
>> Our students have the opportunity to attend various field trips
including the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C.
>> 125 Mentor High School students are members of the National
Honor Society and more than 100 middle school students are members
of the National Junior Honor Society.
>> Student Ambassadors are chosen at the elementary and middle
school level to set a positive example and work with peers to accomplish school goals. Students can also participate in Safety Patrol at all of
our elementary schools.
