STATE CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to our state champion girls track team and Paige Floriea (100, 200, 400 and long jump), Tori Lanese
(high jump) and the 4x800 relay team for bringing home the gold at Ohio’s Division 1 State Championship meet!
>> Having a large number of students enrolled in the
district provides an opportunity to offer many extracurricular activities, including sports and clubs, for students
of all ages.
>> Mentor High School’s athletic department runs 25
Varsity sports teams, 20 Junior Varsity teams, and 10
freshman teams. Our teams regularly win conference
and district titles.
>> Each of the middle schools has approximately 15
sports teams available for students.
>> Despite the challenges of COVID-19, last year proved
to be a great one for our Mentor High School athletes!
Along with the championship titles mentioned above,
several other student athletes qualified for state competition in cross country, track, wrestling, swimming, gymnastics and bowling. Our football and basketball teams finished their seasons as regional
champions and baseball and girls soccer earned district champions titles. It was a big year for Mentor High School athletics!
>> Mentor High School and our middle schools are home to very successful Science Olympiad teams. Last year, all of our SO teams qualified for
Ohio’s State Science Olympiad Competition at OSU! The competition was held virtually and Mentor High School earned 6th place, Memorial
finished 8th place and Shore was 15th place.
