>> Mentor Schools offers a multitude of specialized services with certified
faculty members to meet the needs of all students. This includes speech
language services, occupational services, physical therapist services,
school psychologist services, behavioral specialist services, guidance
counselors, special educators, and gifted teachers.
>> The district's transportation department operates a fleet of 78 school
buses and covers about 4,600 miles a day in routes.
>> Mentor Schools offers a state-of-theart specialized school for students with
autism, known as CARES (Cardinal
Autism Research and Education School).
CARES also serves as an alternative
revenue source as we are able to
provide special education services for
out-of-district students.
A variety of services provide options to ensure all students receive individualized instruction, enrichment and support.

LEAGUE OF INNOVATIVE SCHOOLS
>> Mentor Public Schools is a proud
and dedicated member of the
prestigious League of Innovative
Schools. Our district was one of the
first selected to represent the State
of Ohio. Since then, the league has
grown into a coalition of 125
forward-thinking school districts providing collaboration opportunities for educators to continue working to find ways to bring
new and exciting innovative instructional practices to life in
classrooms across the country— benefiting millions of students

>> 85% of Mentor Schools’ teachers have earned a Master’s
Degree or higher as part of their continuing education. Dozens
more are currently working toward their Master’s Degree.
>> Nearly 100% of our teachers are considered to be Highly
Qualified Teachers, or HQT. HQT is a qualification at the federal
level as determined by the Office of Public Instruction in
Washington, D.C.
STRAIGHT A FUND GRANT
>> The Straight A Fund grant was the largest grant ever earned in the
district’s history (2014) and its lasting impact remains evident today. The
Straight A Fund grant provided funds for the following projects: renovating
the Mentor High School media center, now called The Hub; building a
16,000 square foot professional development center called Paradigm;
renovating more than 65 Mentor High School classrooms; and providing
MacBooks for all students in grades 9-12.
>> Our Information Technology (IT) team
manages several thousand devices for students
and staff to use including: iPads for students in
K-3, Chromebooks for students in grades 4-8,
MacBooks for high school students and various
devices for staff.
