Community Involvement
StoryWalk® is an innova}ve and delighvul
way for children — and adults! — to enjoy
reading and the outdoors at the same }me.
And, now, we have a StoryWalk at each of
our elementary schools and at CARES. Not
only can students take part in this fun literacy project during school hours, but families and the community are invited to view
our StoryWalks a昀琀er-school hours, too!
Cardinal Credit Union
Connec}ng with Cardinal Credit Union, Mentor Schools
students operate a bank branch inside Mentor High School.
This is a great opportunity for business students to learn banking, while all students can learn personal 昀椀nance and even
open their own checking account. This partnership looks for
memorable ways to teach important life lessons to students
about 昀椀nancial literacy through both coursework and exci}ng
compe}}ons.
Cardinal GO!
Watch the video to learn about our partnership with Laketran,
where high school students can sign-up to ride local routes
free of charge! This greatly improves access to campus,
internships, ac}vi}es, local resources, or a昀琀er school jobs.
Mentor Public Library
MPL operates a library branch at The Hub inside Mentor High
School. This opens our state-of-the-art media center and
makerspace to the public! Plus, watch the video to learn about
our students having the opportunity to receive library cards.
Walk to School Day!
We love when we have the opportunity to invite our school
communi}es to share in fun events with us! Walk to School
Day is a always a well-a琀琀ended ac}vity and several of our elementary schools par}cipate each year. The Mentor Fire and
