GO CARDINALS!
We love the sight of our older students working with our younger students! This happens across the district via our
athletics, music, character-building programs and more. The photo above is from the Mitch Trubisky Youth
Football Camp, which is always a fan-favorite among our elementary — and high school—students!
>> Having a large number of students enrolled in the district provides an opportunity to
offer many extracurricular activities, including sports and clubs, for students of all ages.
>> Mentor High School’s athletic department runs 25 Varsity sports teams, 20 Junior
Varsity teams, and 10 freshman teams. Our teams regularly win conference and district
titles.
>> Each of the middle schools has approximately 15 sports teams available for students.
>> Last year proved to be a great one for our Mentor High School athletes, with some
outstanding accomplishments and even many of our teams and individuals qualifying
for the state level of competition! Congratulations to our Girls Rugby team for finishing
the season as the State Runner-Up! Also congratulations to Boys and Girls Cross
Country and Girls Bowling for qualifying as teams for their state competitions!
Individuals from those teams as well as Wrestling, Girls & Boys Track, and Boys
Swimming also made it to state competition. Our Football team finished its season in
the playoffs and Boys Basketball went to Regionals after earning the district
championship title. The Boys & Girls Track teams also won district titles. It was a big
year for Mentor High School athletics!
>> Mentor High School and our middle schools are home to very successful Science
Olympiad teams. Last year, all of our SO teams qualified for Ohio’s State Science
Olympiad Competition!
