FUNGI ARE NOT PLANTS!
Like plants - they have cell walls but instead of their cell
walls containing cellulose like plants, it contains chitin (like
insects!)
Like animals - fungi cannot photosynthesize. Thus, they
must find, breakdown and absorb their own food. They
also store energy as glycogen like animals do.
Like bacteria - they can cause infection in both animals
and plants

Fungi form their own kingdom separate to plants , animals
and bacteria, although they share similarities with all of
these kingdoms
