#2
FUNGI ARE MORE LIKE
US THAN YOU THINK
MISTY DAY PLANT POTIONS 2019
SOME OF US MORE THAN OTHERS
As it turns out, the animal kingdom and fungi kingdom
share a common ancestor as we both branched away
together from plants at some point about a billion years
ago.
Some say our DNA similarities could be as much as 30%.
This is thought to be why fungal infections are so
difficult to treat in people. Put simply - the antifungal
agent has a hard time killing the fungal infection without
collateral damage to our own cells due to the cellular
similarities.
Does this also mean that their similarity to us might also
make them perfect medicine?
