year in review 2018 Paperturn - Page 117

At UCT, no achievement is based on the effort
of just one person. We work together as a
community to ensure the smooth running of
our institution; the education and care of our
students; the shaping of future leaders; and
research into ways to improve how people live.
In November 2018, for the first time in UCT
history, we gathered as a campus community to
celebrate the outstanding contributions made
by academic and professional, administrative
support and service staff. But there are reasons
to celebrate throughout the year, as students
and staff members receive recognition for their
remarkable work. I am proud of each one.
