CHAIRS
FOR UCT
The South African Research Chairs Initiative (SARChI) was
designed to significantly expand the scientific research base
of South Africa in order to support the implementation of the
national research and development policies. Since its inception,
233 SARChI chairs have been awarded. Of these, 42 are held
by UCT researchers, including two new awardees in 2018.
