Documentary Films Production
Featuring Wayûnders Circle Members
In close partnership with the members of the Wayûnders Circle, the Nia Tero Storytelling team began production of seven documentary ûlms about members of the
Wayûnders Circle. These ûlms are to be completed in 2023, and to be released in
close collaboration with each of the members in 2023 and 2024. Each ûlm is being
made in close collaboration with the Wayûnders Circle members.

Native American Land Conservancy: “Tuhaymani’chi Pal Waniqa” (The
Water Flows Always). A father seeks to reconnect his daughter with her
Indigenous roots and with the ancient springs of the Mojave Desert just as a
new water mining project threatens their very existence.

Blackfoot Confederacy: “Siksikaitsitapi” (One Real People / Blackfoot
Confederacy). The Blackfoot Confederacy is an ancient and modern alliance
among Blackfoot peoples who are today separated into four nations 3 the
Kainai, Siksika, and Piikani nations are in Canada and the Blackfeet Nation
in Montana. These four tribes share a common language, culture, and ancestral territory4a land base roughly the size of Texas. Through voices from both
elders and youth, this short documentary ûlm explores the past, present and
future these Nations share around the protection of their way of life.

Achuar (as yet untitled). The Achuar are an Indigenous People of the
Amazon Basin of Ecuador and Peru. The Achuar of Ecuador inhabit 88
communities across nearly 2 million acres of ancestral territory. Since Catholic
missionaries contacted Achuar in the early 19609s, they have been able to
persevere to maintain their language and culture as well as protect much of
their territory. This short documentary follows a day in the life of Achuar
