Guide to New South Wales State archives relating to convicts and convict administration
The volume comprises copies of warrants sent
chiefly to the Sheriff, and to the Superintendent
of the Lunatic Asylum to which the prisoner was
admitted (Tarban Creek, 1844–56; Parramatta,
1857–78). The warrants record the prisoner's
name, the gaol in which kept, the crime for
which imprisoned, and the registered number of
the relevant Colonial Secretary In-letter.
