Repairs.
An estimate of £121 has been submitted by the
Painting and Repair Staff vii-atiallrIPPides for a complete
overhaul of the Croobyar Subsidised School building. This
building is a departmental one and a subsidised school is at
present being conducted in the premises. Mr. Inspector Austin
reports that the present effective enrolment is 15 with a
possibility of an increase on that number. Ee says that this
locality has a strong claim for the establishment of a
provisional school. No application has yet been received
for the conversion of this school to provisional school status
but ICr. ialstin reports that such a school must surely be opened
and he recommends that the repairs set out in the attached
estimate be approved.
The parents are unwilling to Oarry out
necessary
repairs to the building. The improvements, etc, provided for
in the estLmte appear to be essential for the preservation of
a Crown asset.
in view of all the circumstances I RECOnEND
that approval be given to an expenditure of 111'
permit
of the repairs and renovations being carriea ouu oy the
epartmental ilainting and Repair Staff.
