-;roobyar school ceased to operate as a Public jchool about
1939, but operated intermittently. as a ,- tibsidised School until
2943 rumbers were inflated by childreri-i4hd lived nearer to Milton
than to Croobyar, 'hen this was stopped, the school closed.
The residence appears to have been let by the Resumed Properties Department from about 1.39 also.
Approval has recently been given for the demolition of the
school building, wPathershed, and lavatories. This leaves the
school ground available for letting or for sale.
From time to time, claims are made that there are children
"coming on" in an area between Croobyar and the mountains, but they
have not been mentioned recently. It is possible that there will
1-)P•somo small development in that area at some future uate, and
a site at or nPar Croobyar might be needed.
For this reason, T recommend that neither the residence nor
the site be sold at presPnt. T further recommend that the present
'tenant he offered the school grounds (about two acres) at a reasonable additional rental. The site is ideal for school purposes,
and the residence, from the outside, appears to he in very good
order.
