Sanitary condition of the Public School at MILT
ON,

inspected tha Public School at MILTON on
the 23rd instant,
The waster, Mr. Healey, was present and
afforded re every assistance
in my work,
The sdkool proper consists of a brick-bu
ilding containing two
olass-roons, one large and one small,
The ventilation of the preand
pulses is very good as far as uy experien
ce goes superior to that
usually found in schools of tnis size,
The wails are provided will
good dampcourse and no dampness is to be
noticed at any point of the
building.
The lavatory arrangements are good and
suitable for the
puridose.
This building is situated about 20 feet
from the street on a
2 acre allotment which has a good fall
from front to back, A considerable kiortion of the grounds surround
ing the school has some
three or four months ago, been covered
with gravel composed of totton granite, The graounds are clean and
taking the heavy rainfall
during the last three nonths nto con
,Uderation, rerarkable dry,
The heavy rains have washed srall gullies
into thig gravel whial
now carry the surface waters into the
lower portion of the laygrounds, here it flows into a iantatio
n surrounding the actual
play-ground.
