I am a paymaster
in the Railway Department and am junior to Mr. Miller.
I remember the 10th June last.
I left the sank of New South
Wales that day with Mr. :Killer. I had a box containing
money with me and Mr. Miller also had a box containing money.
We got to the Eveleigh works, and a man stepped forward and
lifted my box out. I did not know his name then but know it
now. That man was accused Twiss. He lifted my box out of
trle cab, he silt it on a man named Bampton's shoulder.

I then followed the man who was carrying my box. I saw
nothing that took place afterwards.

labourer employed at the Railway Department and. have been in the
Department a little over two years.
On pay days it has been Illy
day to go out and receive the boxes from the paymasters. Twiss
and I were regularly emloyed on that job.

waiting for the paymasters to arrive.
