ERANCIS ATON ON OATH STATES :
I am a booking porter at the Sydney Railway Station,
and live at 208 Liverpool Street, Sydney. I look at the
consianment note now shown me.
I receivea the goods laentioned
in that consignment note. They consisted of a leather suit
case and a portmanteau. They weighed 28 pounds each.
I saw
the person sign the name to this consignment note.
I could
not recognise that person if I saw him. (All accused here
stanA up),
I do not recognise any of the accused as having
anything to do with this consignment note.
I saw the person
who consigned that bag write the name oei. 0. Yalkinaro of 53
Kent Street, killer's Point.
The goods were booked at
6.40 p.m. on the 16th June 1..st.
At that
ti1719
of the aay
the counter would be extra busy. (Consignment note marked "Do
:or identification). I see these two articles now produced.
I see this suit case - it is something similar to the suit ci'A3e
that I booked.
The other article was a leather portmanteau
that I booked.
I look at the consignment note.
The articles
were a suit case and a leather portmanteau. In this note
have described it as a leather bag.
I might call it a leather
bag or a leather portmanteau.
To kr. J. W. Abigail :I have seen thousands of bags like these and can't
tell one from another.
(No other questions).
