Brown, Stewart, Ryan and all left the house
together.
Brown left us at Spencer Street.
Stewart, Ryan
and I went on to :Fitzroy. We were all walking along the
street together. Ryan told. Stewart and I to walk on along
the street and wait fur him. Ryan went into so:1,e snop.
When he came out he caught up to us after a few minutes, and
said to Stewart "Charley have you got a handkerchief".
Charley replied "Yes,"and gave him one. Then Ryan took the
handkerchief, and. wrapped it round a bundle of notes he took
from his pocket. Those were five pound notes. He gave them
to Stew,zt to Carry.
Stewart put them in his pocket.
