evidence in Courts as an expert on the question of handwritiat.
I sea the document marked Exhibit 17.
I have seen that and
have had an opportunity of comparing the handwriting on that
witA certain letters. I sea the letter dated ard May signed
Paddy (marked "Iu).
In my opinion that letter is written by
the same hand as that on the document Exhibit 17. (Letter
tenS ered by Mr. Lamb. Mr. Z. W. AtlEall objects.Obection
withdrawn). (Letter now put in and marled Exhibit .... Yr.
Abigail again objects to the latter being put in and points
out it was written two months before the commission of this
ofence and it isimmaterial to the issue. Mr Abigail's
over-ruled.

In my opinion
these words were written by the same hand as wrote the
application for the license (Ex 17) and as these letters.
