Lenten Evening Prayer 2021 ENGLISH version - Book - Page 27
LHS:
You have filled the hungry with good things
and sent the rich away empty.
RHS:
You have come to the aid of your servant, Israel,
to remember the promise of mercy,
the promise made to our ancestors,
to Abraham and his children for ever.
All:
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the
Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall
be, world without end. Amen.
God has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation

All:
Jesus you showed us how to be merciful, just as the
Father is merciful;
may our hearts, comforted by the mercy of God,
become fountains of mercy for all whom we
meet on life’s journey.
Jesus, you desired to reach out to those struggling
in life, and you touched those whom others
considered untouchable;
enable us to overcome all forms of prejudice,
discrimination and judgmental attitudes so that
there is no barrier between us and those who
seek our compassion.
Your response, Jesus, to all who asked for your help
was to say, of course I want to;
build up your Church with such grace, that in
this broken and fearful world, she will be an
oasis of mercy for all people.
