Lenten Evening Prayer 2021 ENGLISH version - Book - Page 29
All:
As we journey through Lent may we always be
lifted up by your mercy.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son.
Amen
Benediction
All kneel
The priest/deacon goes to the altar, genuflects and kneels.
While a Christ-centred hymn is sung, the minister, while kneeling,
incenses the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance.
He then rises and says:
Minister:
All:
Let us pray:
Lord our God,
in this great sacrament
we come into the presence of Jesus Christ, your
Son, born of the Virgin Mary
and crucified for our salvation.
May we who declare our faith in this fountain of
love and mercy
drink from it the water of everlasting life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen
After the prayer the minister puts on the humeral veil, genuflects, and
takes the monstrance. In silence he makes the Sign of the Cross over the
people with the monstrance. The Blessed Sacrament is then taken from the
monstrance and replaced in the tabernacle, in silence.
Dismissal
